Who Would Like Some More Ice? (Dolphin Deeps)

I would, yes please

Because ice is nice

With lime,

A slice,

And lemon, a squeeze

I would, yes please

Because ice is nice

In sparkling

seas

Where dolphins dance and play and tease

A moody, black background enhances a water glass lit from above and behind with deep teal light.  Looking thoughtfully at us from the glass is a bottlenose dolphin. Splashes of water on the table top join a muted reflection of the dolphin. The slice of lime in the glass both compliments and contrasts with the deep teal colour of the light. I find dolphins both stunningly beautiful and encouraging. Beautiful because they are poetry in motion, and encouraging because they are mammals managing to flourish in a hostile environment. They can’t even breathe where they live, but not only do they cope with that, they thrive, and enjoy living so much that they love playing. They give me hope that I too might find ways to flourish, even when I find life difficult.
