#39 Rhinoceros Last Light

rhinoceros oil painting white rhinoceros drinking at a pan in grasslands by wildlife artist Barbara Podmore

Is it the last light for rhinoceros? Are these the last years of rhinos in the wild? When I see a wild rhino I feel very privileged. My children have seen them – will their children, or grandchildren?

In this painting I tried to capture the mixture of peach and purple light and shade cast by the last rays of the sun.
